The 41st McKanna-Cooper reunion was held on Sunday, June 12 at the Wilson Senior Center in Wilson. The Center was decorated with bean pots, sunflowers, and honey candy, representing rural life on the McKanna and Cooper Ranches, which were later flooded to create Wilson Lake. The Gertrude (Cooper) Ward family hosted the 2016 event with the following 74 descendants and friends in attendance.
The Lincoln County Historical Society in Lincoln will host “Children of the Promised Land,” a presentation and discussion by Angela Bates on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 2:30 p.m., at the Lincoln County Museum, 216 West Lincoln, Lincoln, Kan. Doors will open at 2 p.m. The LCHS will be serving refreshments.
