Barnard native receiving 2019 Kansas Horizon Award for outstanding teaching

Meredith Clark discusses her career as an English, drama teacher in Beloit

Barnard-native Meredith Clark said she is proud to be a teacher, coach and cheerleader to her students.

The 2017 Kansas State University College of Education graduate is receiving the 2019 Kansas Horizon Award for her outstanding teaching skills on Feb. 15. The award, which recognizes first-year teachers across the state, will be presented at a special ceremony in Topeka at the Kansas Exemplary Educators Network State Education Conference, according to a Kansas State Department of Education news release.

“I love facilitating student growth and success,” Clark told the Sentinel.
