Gray matter, uvula, epiglottis, ventricle, capillaries, peristalsis. Maybe you’ve heard all these words before, but maybe also it’s hard to remember exactly what each one means without breaking out Suri, Alexa, or Google.
Last Wednesday morning, K-5 students from Lincoln Elementary School and Lucas-Sylvan Elementary School likely learned a few new words when LES hosted Body Venture, a traveling education exhibit from the Kansas State Department of Education that focuses on child nutrition and wellness. Elizabeth Sheldon, R.N., School Nurse for both USD #298 Lincoln and USD #299 Sylvan-Lucas, coordinated both schools touring through the colorful collection of indoor tents that represent all the systems of the human body.
