District officials react to bond election outcome

A $4.9 million bond election which, if successful, would have allowed the Lincoln School District to make several facility improvements, including the addition of community storm shelters, by increasing property taxes, failed by a wide margin last week. More than 65 percent of patrons receiving mail-in ballots responded by voting the measure down by a final margin of 686-302.
