Early dismissal policy could be modified

A policy rewarding Lincoln High School students for academic performance with early dismissal at the end of the year could be modified under a proposal recommended to the USD 298 Board of Education by Lincoln Junior-Senior High School Principal Christi Walter.

Walter, who outlined her proposal during the board’s Jan. 2 meeting, said she supported the early dismissal program, which was originally started to motivate student performance on standardized tests. However, Walter would like to see program standards raised.
