Health officials planning to inform students about smoking, using Juuls

Lincoln County health officials are addressing a recent surge of teens’ vaping by hosting educational sessions on awareness of smoking for USD 298 and 299 students later this year.

“As a school nurse to both districts, I have seen an increase in vaping devices within the student population just within this year,” nurse Elizabeth Sheldon told the Sentinel.

Sheldon said although this currently isn’t a huge issue, she is working with the Lincoln County Health Department to educate students at both schools.
