Hillegeist makes professional advances
Lincoln City Clerk Heather Hillegeist has been a member of the City Clerks and Municipal Finance Officers Association (CCM-FOA), a professional organization, since first stepping up from deputy clerk into her current role in March of 2015.
She was elected to the 6-member board of directors in 2018 and was recently asked to fill an unexpired term as Treasurer on the 5-member Executive Committee. This is a fiveyear commitment to and for CCMFOA, as other offices are held by progression. From treasurer, Hillegeist will advance to secretary, vice-president, president, and finally, past president. CCMFOA along with the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), recognizes the need and encourages continuing professional development in the area of public administration, social and interpersonal relations and technical skills. In cooperation with Wichita State University (WSU), programs have been designed specifically to facilitate these learning opportunities for municipal clerks and finance officers. Membership to CCMFOA is open to all municipal clerks throughout the state. The organization currently has 466 active members representing 335 Kansas cities.
