Introducing your primary election candidates
Three county contests will be featured on the county primary election – Districts 2 and 3 of the Board of County Commissioners, and election of a new Sheriff.
The Sentinel-Republican asked a few basic questions of the candidates in an effort to introduce them to the community. Following are their responses.
Board of County Commissioners, District 2, Republican ticket
Shawn Keim is a Republican candidate for District 2 commissioner. Born and raised in Lincoln County, Keim has two grown children. Kaden is 22 and a pilot and flight instructor at Kansas State Polytechnic in Salina. Alexandra, 18, will be a freshman at Fort Hays State University in the fall. Keim currently farms outside Beverly. As part of his farming business and other ventures, he has operated various types of heavy equipment. He also owned and operated a recycling business. He feels his experience in these areas will enable him to bring a common-sense and practical approach to a number of issues faced by the county today.
