LES HVAC & Window project in progress; snag on duct work
With school starting again Aug. 15 for the 2019-2020 school year, the progress of the Lincoln Elementary School HVAC and Window Project is top of mind for the community, educators, parents, students and the USD 298 Board of Education. If you’ve driven past LES in recent weeks, you’ve noticed every single window in the building is boarded up.
The project began June 6, after teachers and staff had time to clear and prepare space for the construction. All the old window AC units have been removed, all the old windows have been removed, and plywood and wallboard are currently covering the spaces. Interim Superintendent Dr. Betty Summers told the USD 298 Board of Education in a special meeting at LES last Friday that the new Bard modular wall-mount units are expected to begin arriving Aug. 2. She also explained the new windows will not arrive until October.
