Lincoln County Commissioner Al Joe Wallace resigns

Al Joe Wallace (R) resigned his position as District 2 Lincoln County Commissioner Monday morning prior to the regular meeting, as confirmed by Lincoln County Clerk Dawn Harlow, and did not attend the regular Monday morning meeting.

Harlow said Wallace must submit his resignation to Governor Laura Kelly, as well as the Republican Central Committee of Lincoln County. Wallace returned a call from the Sentinel Monday afternoon and also confirmed he submitted his resignation to the Board of County Commissioners and to Governor Kelly.

“It’s been an honor to serve Lincoln County, and it’s been rewarding, and I’ve enjoyed serving the people, Wallace said.
