Steve Crist awarded coach of the year

After an outstanding cross country season, winning league, then regionals and finally claiming the first state title in Leopard cross country history, Steve Crist was awarded coach of the year for 1A girls. Crist has been building the cross country program from the beginning, and is deserving of this recognition for his many years of dedication and hard work.

Crist received the Kansas Cross Country Track and Field Coaches Association (KCCTFCA) award on January 5 at the coaches clinic and awards banquet in Junction City, but he was notified back in November that he would be receiving this award. Coaches vote who should win coach of the year for each class and for boys and girls, so a total of 12 coaches are awarded coach of the year.
