RSV – ‘tis the season to be sick?

RSV, or Respiratory Syncytial Virus, is a common respiratory virus that generally causes mild, cold-like symptoms. Most people recover in a week or two, but RSV can be serious, especially for infants and older adults. RSV is the most common cause of bronchiolitis (inflammation of the small airways in the lungs) and pneumonia in children younger than one year of age.

Commission Meeting Minutes

November 14, 2022 The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners met in the courthouse commission meeting room Monday, November 14, 2022. Chairman Dennis Ray called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. with Vice-Chairman Darrell Oetting and Member Randy Lohmann present. County Clerk Dawn Harlow was in attendance as recording secretary.

Lincoln Quilt Guild

The Lincoln Quilt Guild met Saturday, Nov. 19. The Divines of Salina presented an interesting program of early quilters in the Emporia area. History through pictures, books, and discussions were enjoyed by those attending.

Sylvan Historical Society Christmas Open House

Come to Sylvan Grove, Saturday, December3 to start the Christmas season! The Sylvan Historical Society will be holding their annual Depot Christmas Open House from 3:00-7:00pm. Light refreshments will be available. Several model trains will be running inside the depot. Come look at all the improvements made to the historic Union Pacific depot! The Sylvan Public Library will also be holding an open house just across the street also beginning at 3:00! Go check out what movie will be playing! From 5:00-7:00pm the Bullfoot Creek/Sylvan Hustlers 4-H Club will be hosting their annual Soup Supper. Bring the little ones to see Santa! Drawings for prizes will take place throughout the evening. At 7:00 pm, downtown Sylvan Grove will light up the Christmas lights! Bingo will follow at 7:00 pm. Come enjoy a day in Sylvan Grove!
