The Lincoln County Republican Central Committee met November 27, holding a Replacement Convention to replace long-time County Attorney Jennifer O’Hare who has moved into the judicial branch as the county’s Judge Magistrate. The Committee selected Scott Wright of Beloit.
As the average age of Lincoln County residents continues to increase and we mourn the loss of students who go off to college and don’t return, USD #298 seems to be immune to this county-wide trend. Several Lincoln High School alumni have returned to the district that took them from their ABC’s to college. More than 20 of the district’s 63 employees are LHS alumni, proving finally, you can go home again.
Lincoln County will be without a County Attorney in roughly two weeks, which leaves the Lincoln County Republican Central Committee in a pinch to find a replacement.
The building at 124 S. Fourth St. in Lincoln has been home to many different businesses since it was built in 1910. From a dry cleaner to pizza to pubs, the building has served the community well.

During its fall grant cycle, the Post Rock Community Foundation awarded over $48,000 to five projects throughout Lincoln County and those served by USD 298 and USD 299.
When Judge Magistrate Brian Grace retired in September, it left a hole in the county’s law enforcement and judicial systems.
The Sylvan-Lucas Unified High School Music Department will present the musical “All Shook Up,” a 2004 American jukebox musical with music from the Elvis Presley songbook and text from a book by Joe DiPietro. This musical premiered on Broadway in 2005.
The Lincoln High School students will present the musical “Freaky Friday” on Saturday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 14 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lincoln Jr./Sr. High School Commons Area. The cost to attend the musical is $5 per person. The musical is under the direction of Becky Holliday.
