National Honor Society

The National Honor Society is a nationwide organization for high school students in the United States and outlying territories, which consists of many chapters in high schools. Selection is based on four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The community is encouraged to participate in Spirit Week. Monday, October 4 is Pajama Day; Tuesday, October 5 is Color War (6th Grade: Pink, 7th Grade: Black, 8th Grade: Red, Freshmen: Orange, Sophomores: Yellow, Juniors: Green, Seniors: White, Staff/Community: Purple); Wednesday, October 6 is Hippie Day (Let’s get groovy! Dress the time of tie dye, bell bottoms, and flower crowns); Thursday, October 7 is Throwback (Blast from the past! Wear fashions from any decade!); Friday, October 8 is Blue Out (Let’s go! It’s game day! Deck out in as much blue as possible). Festivities begin at 2:00 p.m. with a Parade followed by a Pep Rally at 2:30 at Mettner Field. The crowning ceremony will be at Mettner Field at 5:45 p.m. followed by the game vs. the Solomon Gorillas at 7:00 p.m. (Photo by Abby Gerleman)
