Most of the county is familiar with the works of local artist, Jim Dickerman. His son, Trent, is following in his dad’s footsteps and creating unique and mastery level art of his own. If you are not familiar, drive down K-18, K-14, or through each town from Tescott west to Lucas and south to Holyrood and 1-70. You will find an assortment of creatures great and small. The Dickermans use reclaimed metals, their welding skills and imaginations topped with whimsical paint to create an assortment of creatures and flowers. The sculptures are meant to be displayed outdoors for all to see, hence “Open Range” and have been written about in several publications including the Wall Street Journal.
