Local farmers answer the call

Earlier this year Bayer Fund’s America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education partnered with local farmers to nominate rural public school districts for STEM grants. Thanks to Jo Ann Koll, Wesley Jensen, Sheri Suelter, Leesa Frederking, Chad Walter, Judy Schroeder, Sam Suelter, Ryan Spear and Jarrod Heinze, Lincoln Junior/Senior High School was awarded a $15,000 grant. The grant will be used to purchase a CNC Plasma cutter.

Hunter’s Safety October 24

The annual Hunter’s Safety course field day will be offered this year on October 24 from 8 am to 4 pm. The course work and registration must be completed on-line prior to the field day. The event is sponsored by Ringneck Chapter of Pheasants Forever and the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KDWPT).

Post Rock Disc Golf course gets new pads

In April of 2018, the ribbon was cut and the Post Rock Disc Golf Course was officially opened. Originally the course had grass pads. According to organizer Adam Boyd, grass pads are adequate when the course gets limited traffic. However, as a course becomes more popular, the grass pads wear, leaving dirt spots. That makes it difficult to play when the ground is muddy, and thankfully, the Lincoln course has had enough use to have creat-ed this problem.

Lincoln announces Homecoming Candidates

Lincoln’s homecoming is Friday, Sept. 18. The parade begins at 2:00 with the pep rally to follow at Jim Mettner Field. The crowning of homecoming royalty is set for at 6:00, also at Metner Field, with kick-off at 7:00 against Logan-Palco. Above, the 2020 Homecoming Court sits for a photo.
