Evelyn Editha Obermueller

Evelyn Editha Obermueller (Obenhaus) passed away on January 22, 2022 in Olathe, KS after a long and full life of 94 years. She was born at home in Kress, TX to Adolph and Agnes (Buhrkuhl) Obenhaus on October 29, 1927. Evelyn was the first of five children and grew up on a farm in the panhandle of Texas. She experienced the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression and talked about the fine dust darkening the sky and collecting on the windowsills of their stucco home. Her mother sewed their clothes from material made for flour sacks. Evelyn excelled in school. She won speech competitions and was the valedictorian of her high school class. She went to business school and then worked for a Realtor and land manager.

Norman Howard Bird

Norman Howard Bird, 88, a loving dad, brother, and uncle, died Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Born to Howard and Ruby Bird, in Lincoln KS on December 22, 1933, Norman attended Barnard High School and was a member of the ROTC. Shortly after graduating high school, Norman was called up by the U.S. Navy and served in Panama. He spent a few years teaching school in Kansas City and spent time in Oregon.

Anna J. Rempel, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, in Henderson, NE. She was born June 24, 1932, in Arnold, NE to John and Clara (Stephens) Halouska. Anna had five siblings. She attended school in Arnold and later in Aurora, NE.

Dr. Duane Edward Cole

Dr. Duane Edward Cole, 88, passed on to be with his savior, January 9, 2022, at Lincoln Park Manor, Lincoln, KS. Duane was born to Blaine and Elsie (Hunter) Cole on May 18, 1933, in rural Beverly, KS. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, parents, and five siblings.

Barnard Services for Elsie Jean Kelly were held at the Barnard United Methodist Church at 10am on Saturday, January 8, 2022 and visitation took place before the service. The family hosted a reception at the Barnard Community Center following the services, all were invited. Memorials may be given to the Lincoln Park Manor.

Donna Marie Tillett

Donna Marie Tillett was born on July 24, 1942 on her family farm south of Vesper, KS to her parents Lillian and William Feldkamp. She passed away December 24, 2021 in Salina, KS at the age of 79.
