2018: Thank goodness it’s over!

Here we are, on the verge of another new year. Thank goodness. My mother always told me time went faster the older we get, and I thought she was nuts. I mean, a year takes 365 days to complete. A day takes 24 hours. So a year takes 8,760 hours to pass. How can hours take a longer or shorter path? They are 60 minutes long no matter how you look at it. Once I got to thinking about it, though, I’m pretty sure she was right. I’m pretty sure it has only been a year or two since I was celebrating my 21st birthday and here I am a little bit older than that (ahem!) with white hair and 9 1/2 grandkids! How did this even happen? (That’s a hypothetical question in case you wondered.)
