Almost paradise

SLIGHTLY OFF KEY

In early spring, my son, Josh, and his wife decided they wanted to renew their wedding vows on the beach in Cancun. They asked all of us to go along for the destination renewal. What fun that would be!

Because they just love me so much, and they needed an adult to share a room with their 11-year-old daughter, they offered to pay my expenses. Wow! Eight days in paradise? I might be older and slightly infirmed, but I’m not stupid. Of course I said yes! My daughters had exhausted their resources (one with a new house and one with a new baby) so they were unable to go. Josh and Chrissy left their very active four-year-old, and their nine year-old who has very special needs at home with their other grandparents. My other son, the new Senior Chief, jumped at the chance to take a super-vacay with his family.
