Our family was pleased your paper shared the story of the recently discovered painting of our ancestor, William Sheets. There are a few points which need to be clarified.

The article stated there had been “several” other paintings discovered around the county. There have only been two of these “surprise” findings - the eagle painting and one other that had been called to our attention a few months ago. That painting is in a rural Lincoln County home. The landscape painting in my son’s possession was handed down through our family to him.
