Leopards end regular season on four game win streak
Because of game field conditions the Lincoln/Sylvan-Lucas baseball team was able to play their regular season finale at home. Because of rain Canton-Galva could not host the final doubleheader of the season and the games were moved to Lincoln May 10. The Leopards took advantage by sweeping the Eagles and ending the season on a four game win streak.
The Eagles jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first inning but the Leopards plugged away through out the game and completed the comeback in extra innings. Both teams scored four runs in the second for a 12-4 Eagle lead. Two runs in the third and another six runs in the fourth inning and the Leopards trimmed the lead to 14-12 after the Eagles scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth. The Eagles extended the lead to 17-12 in the fifth, then both teams scored four runs each in the sixth for a 21-16 Eagle lead. In the top of the seventh inning the Leopards tied the game at 21 scoring five runs to force extra innings. The Leopards tacked on another four runs in the eighth and shut out the Eagles in the bottom of the inning to win by four runs.
