LHS football jamboree & BBQ fundraiser for Flinn family utilize improved Mettner Field
Above: Lincoln High School Football hosted a preseason Jamboree with Solomon and St. John’s Beloit/Tipton last Friday, Aug. 30. The first regular season game is this Friday, Sept. 6 at home vs. Tescott.
Between the annual Alumni volleyball scrimmage at the High School gym and the Jamboree at Mettner Field, the LHS Class of 2020 hosted a BBQ fundraiser for the Flinn family that suffered a tragic incident on Aug. 18 when their home was lost to a fire. Nikki Flinn is the Athletic Director and a business teacher at LHS. The line wrapped from near the track all the way down the new sidewalk almost to the field house, as the community came together to show their support, with over $4,500 raised, according to the USD 298 website.
