LINCOLN VARSITY GIRLS COMPETE IN LINCOLN INVITATIONAL AND CAPTURE GOLD
The Lincoln varsity girls cross country team won the Lincoln Invitational last Thursday, which hasn’t been done since 2013. Though that is a tremendous accomplishment, the girls also beat Bennington, who won 2A state the previous two years. It was cold and damp, but the girls varsity team persevered. Lincoln’s Jaycee Vath, once again winning the girls varsity competition, set a new meet and course record with the time of 19:46.
“It was a very cool day on Thursday but it was great weather for distance running. The girls had another very strong performance by placing all four runners in the top 10.
