The Mustangs conquer the Trojans
Area basketball teams Sylvan-Lucas and Tescott played a conference game in Sylvan last Friday evening. The Lady ‘Stangs immediately took control over the game and defeated the Trojans 43-21.
The Lady Trojans had a rocky start and were unable to make it on the scoreboard in the first quarter, and the ‘Stangs took advantage and outscored the Trojans 8-0 in the first quarter. The Trojans were saw more success on offense during the second quarter of play. They were able to post five points, but the ‘Stangs continued their lead and scored seven. The teams went into halftime with the Mustangs leading the way 15-5. The Lady ‘Stangs offense was unstoppable in the third quarter, tallying 17 points and increasing their lead to 32-12 over the Trojans. The point gap was large, but the Lady Trojans did not give up and had their highest scoring moments in the fourth quarter, recording 9 points. The ‘Stangs polished the game off with 11 points in the fourth quarter advancing their record to 6-1 this season.
