Jaycee Vath named Athlete of the Week

Lincoln Senior Jaycee Vath was named one of the NCKSSports.com/Cunningham Telephone and Cable Athletes of the Week.Vath had another outstanding year on the cross country course in 2020 which culminated in her third straight individual title in the Class 1A girls meet. On Saturday in Victoria, she finished the 5K in a time of 19:20, which was 36 seconds better than second place finisher Elle Williams of Doniphan West. Her performance was also key in helping Lincoln to a 2nd Place team trophy. In the previous two seasons, Vath had won the 2019 1A title at Wamego by 37 seconds and won by 26 seconds as a sophomore in 2018. That year, she also helped lead the Lady Leopards to a State title. Vath also took second place in the 2A Girls state race as a freshman.

Lincoln Leopards take down the Bennington Bulldogs

The Lincoln Leopard football team ended the regular season with a loss against the undefeated Canton-Galva Eagles. Lincoln finished the night with 19 overall tackles and one sack. They scored one touch down and completed the extra points for a total score of 8. The Lincoln Leopards will compete in the playoffs this Thursday, October 29th in Burlingame, KS. Sylvan-Lucas Football dominate Tescott

The Sylvan Mustangs football team ended their regular season with a blow out against the Tescott Trojans. The final score was 46-0. The Mustangs will travel to play South Barber High School on Thursday, October 29th in Kiowa, Kansas at 7:00 p.m. Tescott’s Brandon Peterson (#12) battles with Sylvan-Lucas player Alex Hernandez (#11) for possession of the ball.
