Royce Leon Shafftall

Royce L. Shaffstall was born in Salina, KS to parents Raymond R. Shaffstall and Betty (Budd) Shaffstall on December 4, 1951 and moved to Lincoln, KS in the early spring of 1952. Royce graduated from Lincoln High School, class of 1970. Prior to graduating, he received his Eagle Scout award of which he was very proud.

Royce received his Associate of Arts business degree from Brown Mackie College. He then began his life-long career with General Motors Finance Corporation (GMAC) in 1975. His association with GMAC took him to multiple locations in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. His final assignment was in Plano, Texas, and from there he retired to Mead, Oklahoma where he could indulge in his favorite pastime of striper fishing on Lake Texoma.

Royce was a life member of Lincoln Masonic Lodge, No. 154 as well as the Lincoln Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and several cousins. He is survived by his brother, Tom Shaffstall, and sister-in-law Gayla, of Salina, KS. In addition other survivors include cousins Robert Shaffstall (Judy), Fairview, TX; Bill Ballou (Connie), Hot Springs, AR; Steve Ballou (Kathy), Manhattan, Ks; Richard Peterson (Norma), Ft. Worth, TX; and Beverly (James, dec.) Shaffstall, Springfield, MO.

Graveside services in Lincoln Cemetery are pending. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Society or the Lincoln Methodist Church.
