Carolyn (Gibbs) Hill

Carolyn (Gibbs) Hill was born on July 21, 1942 and died on October 20, 2023. She was born in Lincoln, Kansas where she graduated from Lincoln High School and then attended Fort Hays College where she majored in music. During these years she was a very accomplished vocalist, piano and organ player. She was the pianist/organist for the Presbyterian Church during her high school years. she later moved to Wichita, Kansas where she attended and graduated from Vernon’s School of Cosmetology and worked in many Hair and Beauty Salons. During these years she also managed the Beauty Salon at the Kansas Masonic Retirement Home. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Esther Gibbs, Sisters Marianna Lewis, Peggy Kennedy and Janet Gibbs. Her most beloved people left behind are her two sons, Kelly Graber (Valerie) and Kurt Graber (BJ) along with her Sister Cheryl McGee, Grandchildren Kory (Kayla) Graber, Kyle Graber, Kerry (Valerierose) Graber and Terah Graber and 2 Great Granddaughters along with numerous nieces, nephews and great and great great nieces and nephews. Carolyn was very active in the community volunteering at the Lord’s Diner, The Food Bank at New Hope Christian Church and delivering Meals on Wheels. A Memorial Service and Luncheon will be held at Georgetown Retirement Center at 1655 South Georgetown, Wichita Kansas on Saturday November 11th at 11:00 AM. Memorials may be given to the Wichita Chapter of the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
