James LeRoy Pierce

James LeRoy Pearce, born September 17, 1945 in Salina, Kansas departed this earth on May 17, 2023 at age 77 years old in Green Valley, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents LeRoy and Clara (Kline) Pearce (Taylor) and sister Doris Ohnemiller. He is survived by a sister Dianne Cairns (Hugh) of Salina and two nephews and two nieces.

Jim attended Lincoln High School and graduated class of 1963. He was active in sports participating in football, basketball and track. He attended Fort Hays University and served the Navy for four (4) years. He then attended Emporia State University and graduated with a degree in Education. He taught and coached at Scandia and Oxford, Kansas. Leaving the teaching profession, he had several jobs in Wichita and played semipro baseball. Since then he has had many jobs in the Western States, retiring in Salina and then on to Green Valley, Arizona where he had presently resided.
