Lt. Col. Sean “Pagan” Godley, USMC (Retired), 60, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023 in Kansas City, KS. He was born November 10, 1962 in Fitchburg, MA to James and Launa (Tapply) Godley. After graduating, Sean enlisted in the Marine Corps from 1982 to 1986. He then went on to become an officer and spent time in both Marine Corps VMA211 and VMA311 squadrons, Yuma, AZ, where he flew the AV8-B Harrier. He served a total of 26 years in the United States Marine Corps and retired in October of 2013. Sean flew the 737 for United Airlines for ten years.

Sean married Susan Budreau in Lincoln, KS on May 1, 1999. Together they had two children: Raegan and Nathaniel. He is survived by his wife Susan of Leavenworth, KS; children, Raegan Godley of Lawrence, KS and Nathaniel Godley of Leavenworth; mother Launa Godley of Fitchburg, MA; sister Honor Godley of Fitchburg; and Patrick Godley of Fitchburg. He was preceded in death by his father James Godley; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Connie and LeRoy “Bud” Budreau; and stepmother Caroline Godley.

Visitation will be held noon-2:00 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2023 at Hall Chapel of Lincoln, KS.

The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2023 at Hall Chapel with burial following at Lincoln Cemetery.
