Luella Heiser Long

Luella was born in Denver, CO to Frank and Florence Heiser. Luella grew up in Lincoln, KS.

She began her career at Southwestern Bell Telephone in Lincoln and later moved to Wichita. She is survived by her husband Bobbie Long, daughters Martha (Grayson) Jones and Nancy (Ken) Fugate and grandsons Alex and Ben Fugate.

She was a 75-year member of Eastern Star. She was an excellent seamstress and hand embroiderer, making her own and her daughter’s clothes and many embroidered items. After retiring, Luella volunteered with the Red Cross, Telephone Pioneers of America, VA hospital, and her church.

A memorial service will be Sunday, February 13 at 2:00 at University United Methodist Church, 2220 N. Yale, Wichita, KS 67220. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to University United Methodist Church or Home Health and Hospice of Kansas. Virtual service will be accessible at www.OldMissionMortuary.com.
