Melba Marie (Bolte) Williams, age 95 of Mobile, passed away Friday, June 10, 2022. Melba was born January 20, 1927 in Kansas to parents Walter and Mary Bolte.

Melba was a woman of many talents and skills, a very selfless and generous soul who lived life to the fullest.

Melba completed business school and worked in banking over 30 years until she retired. Melba traveled the world with her husband as a military wife and made numerous friends along the way. Dogs were always a part of Melba’s life and she took great care of them, which brought her such joy and companionship, especially in her later years. Melba was a skilled seamstress, making much of her own clothes. She excelled in all kinds of needlework, making beautiful calendars and baby blankets for family and friends. Melba was an excellent cook and baker. Her homemade yeast rolls were requested at every holiday without fail. She kept a beautiful yard and garden up into her 90’s and was active nearly all her life.

Melba was a faithful member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church since moving to Mobile in 2005.

Melba is survived by her stepson, Ric Williams (Judy); daughter-in-law, Faye Williams; grandchildren, Andrea Thompson (Kenny); Erica Black (Eric); Stephanie Bellamy (Kevin); Sabrina Holloway; Tammy Ernest (Chuck); Joseph Procella; Teresa Procella; Michelle Blasio; and Karen Blasio.

Nieces, Nadine Bishop (Mark); Lisa Bolte Huschka (Kris); Angela Bolte (Kristen Krajewski); nephew, Kevin Bolte(Terry); numerous great grandchildren; great great grandchildren and other family and friends.

Melba was preceded in death by husband, Jack T. Williams; step-daughter, Diane Wall; stepson, Allan Williams; mother, Mary Bolte; father, Walter Bolte; brother, Roland Bolte, sister-in-law, Bernice Bolte; and grandson, Sean Blasio.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 22 at 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 6040 Three Notch Road, with funeral service following at 2:00pm. Internment will be at Memorial Gardens.
