Nola Darlene Cromwell, 94, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Lincoln Park Manor, Lincoln, KS. She was born February 22, 1929, in Lincoln County, KS to Albert and Dorothy (Yost) Benson. Nola was a lifetime resident of Lincoln County. She grew up near Denmark where she attended grade school. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1947. Nola married Daniel Maurice Cromwell in Kansas City, KS on March 6, 1949. She was a true farmwife, helping Daniel with all the farm operations and even running the farm with son, Benny when Daniel was gone hauling cattle. Later, she was a bus driver for 32 years for the Lincoln schools. Nola and Daniel enjoyed traveling and later she traveled to many destinations with friends and family. Nola had an affection for Native American culture and always admired their artwork. She was a member of the Lincoln Presbyterian Church until its closure when she joined the Lincoln United Methodist Church.

Nola is survived by her daughters, Debra Meier (Nolan) of Lantana, TX and Sandra King of Lincoln; son Daniel Benson “Benny” Cromwell (Jeannine) of Lincoln; daughters, Melodee Larsen (Rodney) of Lincoln, Carole Liggett (Galen) of Lincoln, and Dina Hackney (Ed) of Salina, KS; brother Ronald Benson (Jean) of Dumas, TX; sister Barbara Davis of Spokane, WA; 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; former foreign exchange student Elaine (Brito) Pimentel of Brazil; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Daniel; granddaughter Tara King; and brother Royce Benson.

Visitation: 1-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Hall Chapel, Lincoln. Family will greet friends 5-7 p.m.

Funeral service: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Hall Chapel with burial following at the Lincoln Cemetery.
