County hires Emergency Management Director

Baldwin Fisher has been preparing for something all his life. As a proponent of self-sufficiency, he and his family preserve fresh produce to keep their pantry filled. He prepared for the birth of his three children. He prepared himself for life by earning a degree in homeland security. And for 23 years as a combat medic in the U.S. Army, he constantly prepared for war, disaster and serious injury.

Today he is still preparing himself, and Lincoln County, as the county’s new Emergency Manager.

With the field of emergency management being broad-based and touching on a multitude of potential problems, it is not so different from that of a combat medic.
