King wins local Geographic GeoBee
Ten students from USD 298 participated in the school competition of the National Geographic GeoBee on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. Isaac King, an 8th grade student, won first place, and Jonathan Bell, a 6th grade student, taking second place.
The school competition is the first round in the National Geographic GeoBee. Questions cover geography, ancient and world civilizations, cultures, and physical features. The National Geographic Society developed the GeoBee in 1989 in response to concern about the lack of geographic knowledge among young people in the United States. Over more than three decades, more than 120 million students have learned about the world through participation in the GeoBee.
