Lincoln VFW Post Commander answers the call
James Sanchez, Commander of Lincoln VFW Post 7928, used his military and civilian law enforcement training to answer a call for security duty during recent rioting in Chicago. Sanchez spent three days providing security at a shopping mall in the southside of Chicago during the George Floyd riots.
“Prior to settling back on the family farm east of Westfall I spent time as a Police Chief and as Fire Marshall in New Mexico,” Sanchez said. “I was also a SWAT team instructor for a private security firm. Chicago officials contacted that private security firm, asking for help in the suburbs while all local law enforcement were called into downtown Chicago.”
