Senator Moran tours Marcon Pies, downtown Lincoln

U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) and James Kelly from Moran’s Manhattan, Ks. office stopped in Lincoln Tuesday, September 1, to tour the MarCon Pie facility on W. Lincoln Avenue. Along with employees Chelsea Meyer, Jill King and Sharon Coad, Economic Development Director Kelly Larson and Mayor Travis Schwerdtfager were on hand to greet them.

His first comment on entering MarCon Pies was about the smell of “home” baked pies. The bakery had just finished cleaning up after making and baking 100 pies.

Moran, originally from Plainville, often visits small Kansas towns to keep on top of changes, improvements, new businesses and to answer questions.
