State officials still investigating cause of gas explosion south of Beverly

State fire officials are still trying to determine what sparked a natural gas explosion last month, critically injuring a Beverly woman and destroying her home. On Thursday, Lincoln County Sheriff Mike Weigel said investigators with the Kansas Fire Marshal’s Office were still examining evidence in the case, and had yet to complete their portion of the investigation. Weigel confirmed the sheriff’s office wrapped up its inquiry Wednesday, but no additional details are being released.
