What follows is the continuation of the Year-in-Review, a look back at the news happenings each month throughout 2018.

At 84 years old, Lincoln resident and former Lincoln County Sheriff Don Panzer left behind a legacy of respect and kindness to several family members and friends.

“He was a very, very nice man,” said Shawn Kobbeman, Don’s former coworker at the sheriff’s office, “a great sheriff. He was always in a good mood.”

Don passed away April 7, 2018. He was born May 5, 1933. * Lincoln County Commissioners rejected a request from the newly formed Lincoln Manor, Inc., non-profit board to assume control of the county owned nursing home building. Commissioners also refused to provide more than $2.4 million in funds to help with the operation and expansion of the facility.
