Hawks season ended in russell
American Legion baseball Zone tournaments began last weekend, and the Lincoln County Hawks traveled to Russell Saturday and Sunday for a pair of games that both ended in defeat, and closed the summer baseball season for the local team.
The Hawks took on Russell for their first game on Saturday in what was a close game until the final inning. The Hawks jumped right out and scored four runs in the first inning, two of them coming by the way of a two-run home run by Drew Biggs.
Russell scored four in the top of the third to tie it at four. Russell got one in the fourth, one in the fifth, and two in the sixth to make it 8-4.
