USDA Farm Loan Update

USDA has announced that distressed borrowers with qualifying USDA farm loans have already received nearly $800 million in assistance, as part of the $3.1 billion in assistance for distressed farm loan borrowers provided through Section 22006 of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The IRA directed USDA to expedite assistance to distressed borrowers of direct or guaranteed loans administered by USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) whose operations face financial risk.

National School Bus Safety Week

Held during the third full week of October each year, National School Bus Safety Week is an active and evolving public education program and an excellent way for parents, students, teachers, motorists, school bus operators, school administrators, and other interested parties - to join forces and address the importance of school bus safety. Designed to promote school bus safety, school districts throughout the country observe School Bus Safety Week.

Commission Meeting Minutes

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners met in the courthouse courtroom Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Chairman Dennis Ray called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with Vice-Chairman Darrell Oetting and Member Randy Lohmann present. County Clerk Dawn Harlow was in attendance as recording secretary.

Cromwell Reunion

The Lincoln Senior Center was the site of the 2022 Cromwell Reunion on Sunday, August 14,2022. Those attending the potluck meal from out-of-town included: Ray and Linda Everhart, Gypsum; Kay Jackson, Barnard; and Nolan and Debbie Meier, Lantana, Texas. Attending from Lincoln were: Wayne, Abby and Daniel Gerleman; Caleb, Hillary, Lani and Caelyn Holeman, Jeff and Norma Kobbeman, Rodney and Melodee Larsen; Galen and Carole Liggett; and Derek and Nancy Walter.

32nd Annual Bazaar at Bethlehem

The Bethlehem Lutheran Church LWML (Lutheran Women’s Missionary League) of Sylvan Grove is holding their annual Bazaar at Bethlehem in the church Parish Hall on Saturday, October 1, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The ladies will be serving rolls and coffee in the morning. The lunch menu includes homemade soups, sandwiches, and pies. The ladies will also have a bake sale, religious cards sale, and bargain table items inside and outside. The proceeds from this annual event are used for various mission projects locally, within the state, and also abroad. Everyone is invited to attend.
