Local businesses, individuals and groups such as Post Rock Mountain Bike Club traveled down main street handing out candy and waving to the crowd. Remembering Pearl Harbor

Pearl Harbor Day, or National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, is observed annually in the U.S. on December 7, to remember and honor the 2,403 Americans who were killed in the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on December 7, 1941, an event leading to President Franklin Roosevelt declaring war on Japan the next day and thus entering World War II. According to history.com, Roosevelt expected an attack on U.S. targets in Thailand or the Dutch East Indies. When the news about Pearl Harbor reached Washington, President Roosevelt was surprised by the attack which had been more deadly than the administration had expected, even though Pearl Harbor was an obvious target.
