L Tech now a reality

Lincoln Technical Center (L Tech) is open and operating. The final occupancy inspection has been completed and students are utilizing the building. The L Tech currently offers course work in Automotive Tech and Welding. This facility is a satellite campus for Salina Technical College and is open to any students, in any district in the surrounding area, that meet the admissions requirements of Salina Technical College.

Hillegeist receives advanced designation

Lincoln City Clerk Heather Hillegeist recently earned a Master Municipal Clerk designation, held by fewer than 30 City Clerks throughout the state. Even with her determination, dedication and perseverance, the road has been long, but rewarding. Heather received her MMC October 13, making it nearly eight years between the time she began her journey and reaching the end.

Lincoln Carnegie Library is celebrating Halloween in style this Halloween during Thursday morning Storytime. Kids who enjoy boo-ks will definitely enjoy these. On Thursday, October 27, a Halloween party will begin at 10:15. Little spooks should plan on arriving at the library between 10 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. for stories, games, treats and fun! To make it super fun, wear your Halloween costume! All ages are welcome.

It’s open enrollment time for Medicare. What does that mean exactly? It means all we’re going to see in the way of television commercials are those about health insurance. It means if you ever put your age on an internet form you are probably receiving a barrage of SPAM from insurance companies pitching their Medicare Advantage Plans. For many seniors it also brings confusion and frustration from attempting to decipher all the information and sales pitches.
