This week, September 14-18, is Constitution and Celebrate Freedom week at USD 298 and throughout the state. If you’ve never heard of it, it’s because it is relatively new and celebrated by only five states in the nation.
Lincoln’s homecoming is Friday, Sept. 18. The parade begins at 2:00 with the pep rally to follow at Jim Mettner Field. U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) and James Kelly from Moran’s Manhattan, Ks. office stopped in Lincoln Tuesday, September 1, to tour the MarCon Pie facility on W. Lincoln Avenue. Along with employees Chelsea Meyer, Jill King and Sharon Coad, Economic Development Director Kelly Larson and Mayor Travis Schwerdtfager were on hand to greet them.

Scott Rathbun was injured in a 4-wheeler accident near his home Saturday, August 29. Rathbun and his eldest son Carter were out checking on cattle when the incident happened.

After 40 years in business in Lincoln County, Doug and Vicki Lebien are closing the doors on Lebien Seeding and Fencing Co. The company is not going out of business though. The Lebiens have sold the company to Lincoln County natives Mitch and Kimberly Meyer effective September 1, 2020, and has been renamed Meyer Seeding & Fencing.
